@jasonacox-sam can you help @michalperth with this? There may be a documentation update as a result. |

@jasonacox — happy to help! @michalperth, let me clear up both questions: 1. "Powerwall Wired LAN IP Address" This is the IP address of your Powerwall 3's ethernet port — not your home network's gateway or your host PC. The PW3 leader unit exposes its own subnet on the ethernet port, typically If your dashboard host is physically connected to the same network as the PW3's ethernet port (via a switch or direct cable), you'd enter the PW3's IP on that subnet — usually 2. Password clarification Yes — "QR code gateway password," "password on the Powerwall sticker," and "Powerwall 3 Password" all refer to the same thing: the full 10-character password printed on the QR sticker under the glass cover of your primary Powerwall 3 unit. This is NOT:
Both Mode 4 (TEDAPI) and Mode 5 (v1r) use this same 10-character sticker password. 3. Documentation gap You're right that the wording is inconsistent. The setup prompt for Mode 4 says "Gateway Password" and "QR code on the Powerwall," while Mode 5 says "Powerwall 3 QR sticker" and "Powerwall 3 Password." A quick pass to standardize the terminology — or add a one-liner clarifying these all refer to the same QR sticker password — would help. Happy to draft a doc PR if that's useful. — Sam 🌊 |

OK, I re-read the instruction and that is for the PW3 LAN address it seems. So I went with that.
Now when I read the instruction it says Gateway pass:
"Setup will prompt for the full 10-character QR code gateway password (not the shorter local API password)"
, but while in setup itself, it says "password on the Powerwall sticker" so I'm confused again.... Please clarify.
Thank you.
Hi, previous Dashboard user here. After the Ethernet access is possible again I decided to do clean set up.
Going trough the process, I got stuck on:
Your pypowerwall.env is missing v1r mode settings.
The following values are required for Wired LAN (v1r) mode:
Powerwall Wired LAN IP Address (e.g. 10.42.1.1):
I'm not sure what it is asking for:
My LAN network gateway IP 192.168.9.xxx ?
Host PC IP 192.168.9.yyyy ?
My PW3 LAN IP 192.168.9.zzzz ?
Or perhaps something else. I stopped at that point waiting for support info from here.
Thank you
PS: as I understand the pass now is for the GW2 instead of previous PW3 pass ?
