Welcome! taOS is a self-hosted operating system for AI agents: a full web desktop, agents in isolated containers, an app store, real long-term memory, and a cluster you can build out of whatever hardware you have lying around. It runs on anything from a £170 single-board computer to a gaming PC, and nothing leaves your network unless you choose to connect a cloud provider.

This is the place to talk about it. A quick guide to the categories:

Q&A is for getting unstuck. Install trouble, something not behaving, "is this supposed to work like that". If it turns out to be a bug I will move it to an issue and it usually gets fixed fast.

Ideas is for feature requests, big or small. Tell me what you want taOS to do. And if you use AI agents yourself, I genuinely encourage you to point them at taOS and have them write up the feature request for you, that workflow is something I want to make first-class.

Show and tell is for your setups. What hardware you are running on, what agents you have deployed, what you have built with it. Photos of single-board computers doing unreasonable amounts of work are especially welcome.

General is everything else.

• If something broke after an update, check the update breakage log first, it lists known migration issues and their fixes

taOS is in beta and moving quickly. Plenty of the app and model catalogs have not been exercised on every bit of hardware yet, so reports from real machines are worth more than gold right now. Thanks for being here this early.
