I wonder if there is support planned for central heat pumps that support heating and cooling?
My situation is, that I added an abandoned part of our building to be our future guest and hobby place. Three rooms, one large, two smaller ones, a kitchen and a toilet. 8 loops of floor heating / cooling one heat-pump.
The thing where all the loops come together is using self calibrating EGO M30 valves, one per loop and these are controlled by 8 Modbus relays, the heap-pump is on the Modbus as well.
It was perfectly easy to create 3 VT switching controller in HA, assign the relays and it worked perfectly from the start.
But,
As I understood, for a central heating you should add a central control device and let the clients lean on that device. So I added the central controller but cannot find any option to make it Heating / Cooling. The heating and power saving controls are already working as today there was so much sun that no heating was required and the central control shut down the heat-pump. Nice!
But these days we'll get >30°C and I would love to have the cooling mode active...
For my understanding only a very few things are needed:
A control command for the central control to switch into cooling mode
A logic needs to avoid permanent switching between heating and cooling (Timeout / Day Night Logic / Outdoor temperature)
Clients need a priority to help the central control VT ruling for Heating / Cooling
Where I live you can test these options very good as in Spring and Autumn we have days with +25° at daytime and -10°C in the next night.
For me it would make sense to define or derive an outdoor temperature that weights the decision for heating / cooling.
