Lingua 2.3.1 (Windows)

Lingua 2.3.1 for Windows: read pictures and translate text, with local AI.

• 🔤 Text opens a two-pane translation desk: From / To / Tone / Engine, context and glossary, Ctrl+Enter to translate, Esc to stop, Alternatives & notes, review warnings (numbers, URLs, glossary terms), Paste / Copy / Save.
• Local AI (Ollama) on the laptop: if Ollama is running with a model such as qwen3:8b, Lingua uses it when the company models are down, for text, pictures, captions and paired phones. Nothing leaves the laptop. Turn it off in (i) or with LINGUA_LOCAL_AI=0.
• Fallback order: company models -> local AI -> offline language packs -> online services (only if you opted in).
• Times like "14:00" are kept intact by offline translation.
• Command line: Lingua.exe --translate-text "..." --to zh-TW [--tone formal] [--glossary file].

The first local-AI call can take 20-35 s while the model loads; alternatives take about a minute.

Install: unzip, add your lingua.env (not included), run Install Lingua.cmd. Existing installs: click ⟳ Updates in the app.
