PS5 Backport 0.3.4
This release brings together everything since 0.3.2: the 0.3.3 fixes and the three 0.3.4 testing builds. If you used
0.3.3 or one of the 0.3.4 test builds, this is the same program with a release version number.
New
- No audio in Unreal Engine games that use CRI audio (#28, FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE). These games ask for a 7.1.4
(12-channel) speaker setup. Firmware 4.xx–5.xx only accepts up to 8 channels, so the game ran silently with no error.
The game now uses its own 7.1 setup instead. Confirmed on a base PS5 on 4.50 (music, effects and voices back); not
yet checked on higher firmware or a Pro. If you have a 7.1.4 / Atmos speaker setup, these games output 7.1. - Switch AMPR / PlayGo (#17 Dave the Diver, #27 Hollow Knight). Tick a game and press Switch AMPR / PlayGo…
above Start Backport (also in the right-click menu, for any backport ZIP or backported folder). It replaces
fakelib/libSceAmpr.sprx/libScePlayGo.sprxwith a known-good library: the engine's known-good AMPR and PlayGo,
the Unreal Engine AMPR, drakmor's ampr_emu 0.4.2.1 (GPL-3.0, redistributed unchanged), or a signed .sprx of your own.
Only those two files change. Some dumps bring an AMPR / PlayGo that stops the game at launch or leaves it without
content or audio. - PS5 Pro build (Pro firmware 9.00+). Replaces the "PS5 Pro PSSR 2 test" option. For games that declare PS5 Pro
support, it makes a second, Pro-only ZIP (… PS5 Pro backport files.zip) in which the game's own Pro checks answer
"Pro". Games that use PSSR also get the Pro PSML. Install it only on a PS5 Pro with firmware 9.00 or later; base
consoles keep the normal FW 4xx ZIP. Results from Pro owners are very welcome.
Fixed (from 0.3.3)
- Jurassic World Evolution 3 and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls refused with "No safe automatic candidate" (#23, #24, #22).
- The program closed when a folder was dragged onto it (#25).
- A dump that already has a fakelib folder from another tool was refused (#27). Its three libraries are now replaced
with the program's own, and your copies are kept in the originals backup. AMPR / PlayGo files are kept. - Dump files left by other tools (macOS
._files,__MACOSX,.DS_Store,Thumbs.db,desktop.ini) no longer fail
the build. A folder insidefakelib/, a tiny fakelib library, or an old output folder left inside the game folder now
stops the build at the start and names the file. - Target SDK above 4 leaves out the 4.xx-only save fixes that broke saving on newer firmware (#5). Unity module files are
written with the exact name the game asks for (#2 launch crash). The PS5 Pro options check works on Pro firmware
below 11 (#21).
Known issues
- Windows Defender or Smart App Control may block the download because it is not code-signed (#20). The SHA-256 in
SHA256SUMS.txt identifies the genuine file. - #6 PSSR 2 image quality, #18 Hitman 3, #26 Minecraft and the MGS4 black screen at gameplay (#2): not fixed yet.
Download
Download PS5BackportGUI-0.3.4.exe, check its SHA-256 against SHA256SUMS.txt, and run it on Windows 10/11 x64 in place
of the old EXE. Settings and the applied-backport ledger are kept; the first start unpacks the new engine. Rebuild your
backports from the original game files to pick up the fixes.
Reporting
Bug reports go in GitHub Issues as before. Please include your exact firmware, console model, the game's PPSA/version
and the Export logs ZIP. A klog helps a lot.
