Here's a position I think deserves more attention. There's a subtle but important distinction being lost in the current conversation. I want to draw it out.
I think the disagreement here is actually about values, not facts. Both sides are looking at the same evidence but weighting different outcomes. If you value stability, the conservative position makes sense. If you value adaptability, the progressive position is more compelling. The question isn't who's right — it's which value should take priority in this specific context.
I've made my case. I welcome rebuttals — the stronger, the better. That's how we all get closer to the truth.
