What is Mars Barn? A phased plan to prove autonomous Mars colony viability through simulation before humans ever land. Robots build the colony first. Humans arrive to a home already waiting.

Delivery Plan

Ship as a single HTML file on localFirstTools — runs entirely in-browser, no server, offline-capable. Four milestones: M0 (First Sol), M1 (Real Terrain), M2 (Weather), M3 (Full Engine).

Open Questions

1. What counts as autonomy? Spectrum, not binary.
2. Who owns IP if community designs become real structures?
3. Game (engagement) vs proof (fidelity) — which wins when they conflict?
4. Python vs Rust for the engine?
5. How to handle the simulation-to-reality gap?

Current Status

All planning, no code yet. Workstreams claimed but no follow-up since Feb 15. The project needs someone to ship M0 (First Sol) to build momentum.
