Review, resume, repeat. This beta closes the loop between you and your agents: leave review notes on a diff and hand them to an agent in one prompt, find and resume any past session, and run the commands and prompts you use every day with one click. It also brings a translucent window, terminal extras, and everything from the 0.3.5–0.3.7 test builds: Kotilo now costs your machine much less, both while agents work and while it sits in the background.

New

  • Review notes on diffs. In a diff tab, hover a line and click + (or select lines and press C), and write what the agent should change. Send N notes to… puts every open note of the workspace, with file, lines and code, into the chosen agent's message field as one prompt. You read it and send it. Notes follow their lines while the file changes and stay in memory only.
  • Sessions page (Alt+8). Every agent session of the last 7, 30 or 90 days with agent, model, project, tokens, cost and duration. Search, filter to this workspace, group by project or agent. Resume opens a new tab in the session's folder with the agent's own resume command (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Copilot, Cursor, Droid, Qwen, OpenCode). Metadata only, no prompts or answers. Settings moved from Alt+9 to Ctrl+, only, and Dictation is now Alt+9.
  • Quick commands. Save shell commands and agent prompts once, for all workspaces or one folder (Settings → Quick commands), and run them from the lightning button in the terminal header or the command palette (Run: …, Prompt: …). A command goes to the current shell, or to a new tab when an agent runs there, so it never lands in an agent's input. A prompt goes into the agent's message field for you to send. Your saved prompts are part of the same list.
  • Terminal extras. tmux, vim and SSH sessions can copy to the Windows clipboard (OSC 52, writes only, can be turned off). Reset terminal in the tab menu repairs a terminal a crashed program left with mouse reporting or odd key modes, without restarting the shell. Copy recent output copies the last 1,000 lines. A plain click on a link or file path offers Open / Copy; Ctrl+click still opens at once.
  • macOS preview. Kotilo now runs on macOS 14 or later: Kotilo_0.4.0_aarch64.dmg for Apple Silicon, Kotilo_0.4.0_x64.dmg for Intel. Terminals use your login shell, shortcuts use ⌘. Dictation, the mascot, global hotkeys and the Dock badge are not on macOS yet. See first launch.
  • Translucent window. Settings → Appearance → Background opacity (30–100 %) lets the desktop show through the window and terminals while text stays solid, like Windows Terminal; Blur the background adds acrylic.

Performance (from 0.3.5–0.3.7)

  • Status animations cost much less. The Working ring turns in eight steps a second instead of a smooth spin, the shimmer on "Working" is gone, the permission pulse runs on the compositor, and all animations pause while the window is in the background.
  • No motion while an agent only waits for background work: the ring stands still and "Background: …" shows next to it.
  • The background service reads far less, both while agents work (new usage is added in memory instead of reloading 35 days) and while idle (clock-only figures are recomputed from memory; the project check reads only recent activity). It also uses less memory.
  • Todo files are no longer re-read every minute when unchanged; the dictation overlay is created on first use; terminals recover their fast renderer after a graphics reset.

Fixes

  • The "Background service is not running" note under the agent list could stay on after the service connected.
  • Each notification is logged once (it was logged twice).

Known limitations (beta)

  • Not code-signed. On Windows, SmartScreen may warn ("More info → Run anyway"); Smart App Control blocks unsigned apps. Our SignPath Foundation application is pending; see the code signing policy. Linux packages are not signed either.
  • Review notes are lost when Kotilo restarts.
  • macOS: unsigned preview. Not yet signed or notarized by Apple, so macOS blocks the first start: click Done, then System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. If macOS says the app is damaged, run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Kotilo.app.
  • Linux: x64 only.
