UFO CLI 4.0.0 is one local tool for every file an AI agent touches: find what is hidden or risky in incoming files, read them, change them without breaking them and hand back clean copies. This release carries the Universal File Opener 4.0.0 engine.

  • 577 of the 580 file types it recognizes now open, up from 372 in 1.10.2. Text comes out of 404 of them, including Pages, Numbers and Keynote, Publisher, Visio, OneNote, Outlook PST and OST mail, WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, Korean HWP, Access and SPSS files; CAD drawings, 3D models, camera RAW and DICOM open too.
  • Guarded edits cover 420 file types, up from 290.
  • Spreadsheet reads report computed formula results beside the exact saved values, with formatted dates and numbers; ODS and XLS read as bounded cell grids.
  • Split RAR sets browse and extract with all parts together, and 7-Zip Ultra and high compression XZ archives unpack within memory limits.
  • Misnamed documents read and render as their detected type while receipts keep the mismatch, and damaged Office packages say what is missing.
  • Offline text recognition adds Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish.

Native installation supports Linux x86_64 with glibc 2.35 or newer. The restricted container processes documents with networking disabled.

The engine binaries use the UFO business use license. They are free for individuals and eligible small organizations; larger organizations need the published organization license. Android and Windows Pro purchases are separate.

Runtime source: 037df4d4ab0feb83a617e2efbc2543c4231f0c34. Fresh security policy passes: no high/critical or fix-available findings, with 44 disclosed medium/low Debian findings. Scope and limitations remain in the shipped documentation.
