Ray Studio 1.3.0

@kw39 kw39 released this 10 Sep 13:14

Ray Studio 1.3.0 adds editable big-square scale markers.

  • Grid Scale now displays the real-world length of one big square.
  • Edit the value in Properties or in a scale-arrow label; both update together.
  • Horizontal and vertical arrows can be moved or deleted independently.
  • New arrows meet at the exact top-left paper corner. Reset scale marker position returns existing arrows there after moving them or resizing the grid.
  • Restore missing scale arrows brings deleted arrows back.
  • Fit page and exports include space for scale labels above the grid.

Existing diagrams keep their real-world measurements. For example, 0.5 m per small square is shown as 2.5 m per big square. To reposition existing markers, click Reset scale marker position.

Use the online editor at https://kw39.github.io/ray-studio/ or download and extract the Windows ZIP, then double-click Ray Studio.exe. No Node.js installation is required. Windows 10/11 x64 and a modern browser are required. The executable is unsigned.

The package includes the MIT license, runtime notices, executable checksum, and build metadata.

@kw39 kw39 released this 10 Sep 12:12

Ray Studio 1.2.0 improves diagram sizing and text editing.

  • Mirror hatch marks are one small grid square long and follow mirror thickness.
  • Arrowheads are one small square high and wide at default thickness, and grow with line thickness.
  • Property sections stay expanded during edits.
  • New labels default to 54 px; attached labels and text can be resized by dragging their corner.
  • The Text tool supports multiple lines, font styling, alignment, and rotation.
  • Fractional line thickness values are accepted.

Use the online editor at https://kw39.github.io/ray-studio/ or download the Windows ZIP below, extract it, and double-click Ray Studio.exe. No Node.js installation is needed. Requires Windows 10/11 x64 and a modern browser. The executable is unsigned.

Existing projects retain saved font sizes; arrowhead and hatch rendering uses the new proportions. Save a project file to transfer work between the website and Windows app.

Verified: syntax checks, 7 unit tests, and 5 browser tests, also run against the standalone executable with Node removed from PATH. The package includes the MIT license, Node.js notices, executable checksum, and build metadata.

Download Ray-Studio-1.1.0-windows-x64.zip from Assets below, extract it, and double-click Ray Studio.exe. Your default browser opens automatically. No Node.js installation or administrator access is required.

Requires Windows 10/11 x64 and a modern browser. Keep the server window open while drawing; close it or press Ctrl+C to stop.

This release includes the physics diagram editor, live reflection and virtual-image construction, adjustable grids, attached labels, editable project files, and PNG/SVG/PDF exports. It also improves project validation, local server security, and autosave recovery.

Verified with 7 unit tests and 4 browser workflows, including running the executable from an isolated folder with Node removed from PATH.

The ZIP includes runtime license notices, a quick-start guide, build metadata, and an executable checksum. The executable is unsigned, so Windows or organization policy may display a publisher warning.
