Sloping ice base
- machinery is largely there but not functional (NaNs in output matrices). CB is diagnosing the issue.
- then, change buoyancy definition to be based on density difference.
- test evolution without offsets in T,S across cyclic boundaries.
- Luke recommends testing "bubble" cases in both atmosphere (dense bubble on bottom boundary) and ocean (light bubble on top boundary) and compare behavior.
Fluxes at ice-ocean boundary
- discuss how to calculate fluxes
- consider Monin-Obukhov Similarity Theory of McPhee for sea ice conditions. Currently, MOST for atmosphere cases is simulated in PALM. In McPhee MOST, T and S fluxes are clearly defined; momentum fluxes less clear.
- after coding McPhee MOST, run resolution studies
