Description
As soon as I add Laravel Boost to my Windsurf editor mcp_config.json as in:
"laravel-boost": {
"command": "php",
"args": [
"D:\\dev\\apps\\jok-tradivi\\artisan",
"boost:mcp",
],
},
and try to use it with GPT-5 models (including GPT-5 Codex), I get at the start of a new chat (before the model even explicitly uses it) a Cascade (Windsurf's Chat module) error:
Invalid argument: Try again with MCP servers disabled. The tools provided by your MCP servers might not be compatible with the model provider: invalid_argument: an internal error occurred (error ID: 5fa128a67e9c4d1c86dba04e0d9a8c39): an internal error occurred (error ID: 5fa128a67e9c4d1c86dba04e0d9a8c39)
It does work with Claude 3.7 or 4 models, though.
I don't know if that is some problem with the MCP implementation of GPT-5 models, a Windsurf problem re the interface between GPT-5 and Casvade, or something related to Boost which only shows with GPT-5 models.
Using a Powershell port of Laravel Boost MCP Global Configuration for Multiple Projects - Complete Solution shows the same problems, here even if the MCP server definition is diasbled.
Steps To Reproduce
same as above
