Description

I am currently checking if the maintenance mode feature is working on Laravel 12.x since I upgraded my existing project from Laravel 11.x to Laravel 12.x. Now, the thing about it is that I thought my existing laravel application is broken due to the maintenance mode feature not working. But I noticed it also when I created a new Laravel 12.x project.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. On a terminal, create a new Laravel 12.x project.
  2. Setup the .env file based on your preference.
  3. Run php artisan serve then check if the website is running.
  4. On another terminal, run php artisan down --with-secret.
  5. Access the bypass link which returns also 503 status code.
