AdobeWine 0.5.0
AdobeWine lets you run Adobe Creative Cloud on Linux. It's made for people who just want to enjoy their software: one package to install, your own Adobe account, your apps. AI (Claude) was used as a tool to build it.
Install
- Most Linux systems: download
CCINSTALLER.flatpakbelow, double-click it, click Install, then open AdobeWine from your app menu. The README has the five steps. - Arch, CachyOS, EndeavourOS, Manjaro, Garuda:
AUR registration is still pending.
curl -LO https://github.com/le-birnes/AdobeWine/releases/download/v0.5.0/adobewine-0.5.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst sudo pacman -U adobewine-0.5.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst adobewine setup
adobewine-0.5.0-x86_64.tar.zstis the prebuilt runtime foradobewine-bin.
You need your own Adobe subscription. AdobeWine contains no Adobe software and doesn't crack or bypass anything.
New
- Wine 11.20 with 101 patches.
- Five more apps in the menu and the AdobeWine window: InDesign, Bridge, Lightroom Classic, Lightroom and Acrobat.
- Acrobat Pro installs and works, and no longer crashes at start in the setups where it did. Protected Mode is off.
- Lightroom Classic and Bridge tested: everyday functions from import to export.
- Windows functions mapped: 5664 Adobe program files checked against Wine (docs/DLL-MAP.md). 104 of 107 gaps are closed, most by returning "not available here" rather than adding the feature. The other 3 belong to DXVK and vkd3d.
Full list: CHANGELOG.md.
Known issues
- Tested day to day on one laptop (CachyOS, NVIDIA RTX 4070). Other systems have had less use.
- AMD has fewer reports, and Premiere and Media Encoder have no hardware video on AMD yet.
- Some web panels stay blank, such as Photoshop's Home.
- Lightroom Classic has sometimes stuck on its splash screen, cause unknown.
