A lesson on presentations?

Do we want an introductory lesson on presentations (with Beamer)? If so I would volunteer to start creating one.

We have https://www.learnlatex.org/en/more-05 which mentions this. I'm wary of a full lesson as presentations are very different from other uses: there is an argument that LaTeX is borderline for being the correct tool here (cf. say Illustrator). Now, I do make my own slides with beamer, but I am mindful that we have to be careful about the balance of the site.

Perhaps you could sketch out how much you'd like to cover?

I'd propose the following:

• Focus on Beamer class
• itemize, enumerate
• images
• twocolumn
• piece-wise uncovering of content

The choices seem to be

1. Don't change
2. Extend more-05 (it is currently only a fraction of the length of more-10 on mathematics)
3. Add a new lesson-?? and more-?? making 17 in total (possibly -06, or possibly later, after graphics)
4. Add an extended beamer example in the gallery in extras-01

I think I'm leaning towards preferring extending more-05 which is a bit "thin" at present. However the not insignificant downside to that is that graphics (and possibly other things) don't appear until later, although at least lists are in lesson 04.

So.. I don't know...

Extending more-05 is probably the best place to start, even if the end result is different: it will give a sense of the amount of new material.

Beamer is mentioned in more-05, we don't plan to extend (and extend all the translations) further, so closing here.
