Authenticate videos and images in Angular

Sometimes you are faced with the need to authenticate videos and images in Angular. And yes I know, normally I write about .NET, but this one took my some time - so I thought it might be worth sharing.

I think, the behavior in Firefox is correct.
You are using mode: 'cors' for the request and the default behavior for a video-tag is to not use CORS if crossorigin is omitted.

Have you tried using mode: 'no-cors'? (in this case, the response isn't available in JS, but I assume you don't need it?)

Do I miss something? 🤔

Hey @kapsiR - thanks for the hint.

As far as I remember (this is some month ago) I used mode: 'no-cors' (which I guess is also the default) and this doesn't allow custom headers to be set in the interceptor logic (aka the worker thread).

What is the reason you opted for service workers? Couldn't the same have been achieved if you have used regular interceptor in angular?

The regular intercepts only work if you use Angulars HttpClient. But <img src and so on will resort to the browsers native fetch which bypasses Angular entirely.
