[BUG] Docker-TVHeadend hangs up on Debian Trixie

Current Behavior

Newest Docker-TVHeadend and also older Versions hanging up on a Debian Trixie based Raspberry Pi 4B Docker Container.

After starting TVHeadend Docker the CPU goes to 100% with a Process named /usr/bin/tvheadend -c -C /config

The TVHeadend Admin Interface isnt reachable, only the CPU hangs on 100% see above

Expected Behavior

Run Docker TvHeadend and TVHeadend starts up

Steps To Reproduce

1. Use a Debian Trixie based System arm64v8
2. Install Docker
3. Run Docker TVheadend

- OS:Debian 1:6.12.47-1+rpt1 (2025-09-16) aarch64 GNU/Linux

Oh from that log, you can see it spawning tar which means it's doing a backup of your /config mount. How long did you leave it til run?

Very long last time i stopped the Container after 20 Minutes because my Raspberry Pi Fan spins on and on.

The Raspi heats up because one CPU Core is at 100%

One last thing, I'm assuming you're doing this with existing /config data. Could you try with a blank/empty folder?

I have tried it already with a complete fresh install (empty Folder) and with an existing Folder its the same Problem.

TVHeadend is running inside the Container but stays also at 100% CPU (hangs)

Thats a screen of Bash inside the Docker TVheadend Container and use "Top" for running processes:

I have inspected the running Container with Docker inspect tvheadend

Got the exact same problem. When looking inside the container, tar is not even running. linuxserver/tvheadend:version-b3974f7d runs perfectly.

:Edit: Yes, Its not completly extracted

:Edit2: I have found the issue, the Docker Container downloads or have a compressed File unknown.tar.bz2 this File is corrupt, in my Bookworm installs before the tar.bz2 was named 4.3-2426~gd1fb6da0a.tar.bz2 and so on and have a much bigger size. The unknown.tar.bz2 is very small 3,4 kb the other 6,5mb

Now Developers can fix it

We are looking at rebasing this container here: #270 to fix this issue + give the container some TLC.
No ETA on when this will be completed.

Hello, this might be a problem with the arm-container. I'm running TVHeadend on Trixie with Podman on x86 without this problem. Also the GUI is working fine.
