Release 0.8.0 (2026-11-02)

daab@0.8.0 updates the project template generated by daab init to use hubot-direct 5.x, together with the repository workflows. No CLI command implementation or CLI dependency range has changed.

Updating the daab CLI alone does not modify existing bot projects. To move an existing bot to the new requirements, edit its package.json (set hubot-direct to >=5 <6 and engines.node to >= 20) and run npm install.

Do not run daab init in an existing project: it overwrites the project files, including package.json and scripts/, without confirmation.

Breaking changes

• Projects generated by daab init now require node >= 20 and depend on hubot-direct >= 5 < 6. hubot-direct@5.0.0 requires direct-js >= 4 < 5, which no longer depends on libxmljs and validates styled-note XML more strictly. • The Dockerfile in the template now uses the node:24 and node:24-alpine images instead of node:12 and node:12-alpine (#26)

• Add a CI workflow that installs the dependencies on Node.js 20, 22, 24, and 26 across Ubuntu, Windows, and macOS (#25, #26)
• Publish to npm using trusted publishing and staged publishing. Published packages include automatically generated provenance attestations (#26)
