Changes

  • Keep the * direction when updating an existing wildcard rule.
  • Recreate an empty default rule set if the last rule set is deleted after
    default was renamed.
  • Report zero-width regex skips inside decoded numeric character references.
  • Show the final result only once on the rule Test page.
  • Align the rule guide and restore the required cancelled-unchanged status key
    in artifact validation.

Automated validation

  • Local repository gate: make check — 868 passed, 1 skipped.
  • Real-Qt acceptance: 13/13 at the requested 960×640 window size.
  • Candidate E-01: workflow run 36685720807, on release commit 8b71b951756e4ae6cac9f6d0b541ef5cb578fe0a. All six native payload jobs, cross-platform Jieba comparison, package validation, and six package-smoke jobs passed.
  • Tagged release: workflow run 36688262786. All native payload, comparison, package, smoke, attestation, and publish jobs passed.
  • The published release contains the Fat Plugin, six platform ZIPs, and SHA256SUMS.txt. Downloaded assets passed the release asset validator and all seven ZIP checksums; gh attestation verify succeeded for all eight assets.
  • Real Sigil host testing is a separate acceptance and is tracked below.

Real Sigil host acceptance

  • Host: Sigil 2.8.1 on macOS 27.0, arm64. Installed the published standalone
macOS arm64 package above; its downloaded ZIP SHA-256 was
    a27644247f519609e9863325c583a8b642a22bc57bd8650cde49fd4fe516c61a.
  • Opened a disposable EPUB fixture (SHA-256 before opening:
    7b4ae178537fe940d9fe5c5da7df1af5d400729f8c58ed38ad44d7f0a8a59ce6). Sigil
repaired malformed fixture markup on open. Selected only
Text/chapter.xhtml, chose s2twp, reviewed the preview, accepted 19 changes,
and skipped 0. The editor and live preview showed the converted text.
  • Saved a temporary literal override rule (验收标记 → 驗收標記, direction
s2twp). The persisted history index recorded successful session
    ac90691e-8fd7-464f-8728-c6e93a32ac23: one file, 19 changes, 0 skipped,
plugin 0.2.12, s2twp, macOS arm64 CPython 3.14. The History panel itself
could not be opened through the Tools menu during UI automation; its persisted
    record was verified on disk.
  • Saved the EPUB in Sigil, closed it, and reopened the saved copy. The editor
and preview retained the converted text and XHTML structure. The saved test
artifact was 1,829 bytes with SHA-256
    8248086d1434b26d36d61c3153628e2257cf961b5aaa0707e2b68298c7c0d8e3 before
test-file cleanup. Original plugin preferences were restored and temporary
rules and EPUB fixtures were removed after acceptance.
  • Host acceptance applies only to the standalone macOS arm64 package. Other
assets and platforms, including the Fat Plugin ZIP, remain Not verified.

Windows on Arm is not native support. The x64 package is only a candidate for
Windows 11 on Arm with x64 Sigil and x64 plugin Python; mark it Not verified
until tested on a physical device. Windows 10 on Arm cannot run x64 Sigil.

SHA256SUMS.txt SHA-256 digests for the seven ZIPs

Changes

  • Report cross-ruleset conflicts before analysis and preserve selected rulesets
    across renames and confirmation flows.
  • Improve TSV, CSV, TXT, and JSON rule import and export, including header
detection, owner selection, Unicode line handling, and V2 rule preservation.
  • Simplify conversion setup and rule controls; apply one scope precedence and
derive NAV conversion from the selected file set.
  • Improve responsiveness for large previews with filtered group updates and
    batched decisions.
  • Keep regex timeouts per call while applying hit and output limits per text
fragment, and aggregate zero-width diagnostics by rule and file.
  • Reduce language-tag choices to keeping existing tags or updating Chinese
tags. Saved "suggest" profiles load as "update".

Behavior changes

  • At the same source position, profile rules created by v0.2.5 or later now
lose to global rules, as spec §11.2 requires. Book rules remain highest.
  • For generic Traditional Chinese with the Legacy preset and no explicit
region, analysis now stops and asks for a region instead of leaving
    language tags unchanged.
  • NAV is converted when it is in the selected file set; the separate NAV
    switch is gone.
  • Regex rules keep the 50 ms per-search timeout and per-fragment hit and
candidate limits; the whole-analysis time, hit, and output limits are
removed, so large books no longer fail on them.
  • OpenCC TXT import splits candidate targets only on ASCII spaces and tabs.
Ideographic spaces (U+3000) and no-break spaces stay in the target.
  • A Sigil host without the BookContainer text API now stops with a
localized error instead of finishing without changes.

Removed

  • Regex rule templates in the rule editor.
  • The Checkpoint banner on the file-scope page. Applying changes still asks
    for the Checkpoint confirmation.
  • The "Diagnose mixed scripts" and "Compare official configs to classify
changes" switches. Saved values are ignored.
  • The "Accept/Skip language tag group" buttons. Deciding one language tag
change still decides its whole group.
  • The strict rule-import mode. Invalid records are always skipped and
reported with their record numbers; a structurally broken JSON file still
    fails.
  • "From current settings" in the profile window, the rule set default
direction and scope settings (new rules always start with the current
direction and Global scope), the Jieba "Details" button, and the
"Checking Jieba" notices in the rule and profile windows.
  • Profile summary and comparison rows for settings that have no effect.
  • The status filter in the history window.
  • The separate dictionary inspector. Its OpenCC comparison output is now
part of the rule Test page.
  • The "rules belong to another book or profile" banner. Such rules are still
    labeled in the list.
  • The rule set settings dialog. Rule sets can no longer be disabled from the
window; a set that is already disabled shows a Re-enable button.
  • JSON rule field aliases pattern and replacement. Files that use them
now fail with an unknown-field error; use source and target.
  • The warning for legacy quoted TSV fields. Such fields are imported
    unchanged.

Automated validation

The release candidate passed make check (861 passed, 1 skipped) and the
real-Qt acceptance script (13/13). The tagged workflow run
36649657631
built and validated the Fat Plugin and six platform packages, ran all six
runtime smoke jobs, verified package checksums, and attested release assets
before publishing. These checks do not run the plugin inside Sigil.

Remaining acceptance

Installation, conversion, save, and reopen in a real Sigil host have not been
tested for this version. Host acceptance remains Not verified.

Changes

  • Add a unified conversion setup flow with clear file-scope controls,
conversion-direction selection, and a localized summary before analysis.
  • Add a one-step, undoable action for resolving all remaining preview rows,
while keeping manual decisions and selected file scope intact.
  • Improve rule scopes, version-specific matching, conflict review, ownership
handling, and import/export support for TSV, CSV, and JSON rule files.
  • Improve profile and history search, profile comparisons, localized status
    filters, and keyboard-accessible preview details.
  • Reduce repeated planning and preview work on large books while preserving
source spans, atomic groups, and existing conversion output.
  • Standardize visible terminology across English, Simplified Chinese, and
Traditional Chinese. Recovery notices now use the localized default-profile
    name.

Automated validation

The release candidate passed make check; the tagged workflow builds and
validates the Fat Plugin and six platform packages, runs the six runtime smoke
jobs, verifies package checksums, and attests release assets before publishing.
Real-Qt workflow checks and three-language preview screenshots are recorded in
the implementation evidence. These checks do not run the plugin inside Sigil.

Remaining acceptance

Installation, conversion, save, and reopen in a real Sigil host have not been
tested for this version. Host acceptance remains Not verified.

Linux aarch64 CPython 3.14/cp314
SHA256SUMS.txt SHA-256 digests for all seven ZIPs

Changes

  • Filter preview decisions by status, file, change category, risk, rule source,
and literal source/target text. Filtering never changes the global pending
    count or reruns conversion.
  • Undo and redo preview decisions, including group and bulk operations, and
restore a decided change or group to pending. This history applies only
    before the EPUB is written.
  • Browse frozen-plan diagnostics by file and code. Select a diagnostic to view
its original line, column, and nearby source; related diagnostics select a
real change, while no-change diagnostics remain read-only.
  • Keep rule-occurrence groups distinct from cross-resource language-tag groups,
protect MathML identifiers, and confirm when a filtered action affects hidden
    members of an atomic group.
  • Index preview groups and compact bulk decision history for large previews.

Automated validation

The tagged workflow publishes these assets only after all six platform package
smoke jobs, version/checksum validation, and asset attestations pass. The
release candidate also runs the full make check gate. Local three-language
Qt checks used Sigil's bundled Python/PySide6 on macOS; this did not load the
plugin inside the Sigil host.

Remaining acceptance

Installation, conversion, save, and reopen in a real Sigil host have not been
tested for this version. Host acceptance remains Not verified.

Changes

  • Add stable-ID rule search, applicability filters, full-text details, and
explicit handling for unfinished editor drafts.
  • Make the rule manager fit ordinary screens, keep the table usable, collapse
advanced settings and sandbox content, and keep save controls reachable.
  • Show empty replacement targets as deletions and make whitespace-only targets
visible while preserving their stored values.
  • Preserve ruleset persistence and rule ownership/semantics during editing;
keep import/export semantics, per-occurrence preview decisions, and sandbox
    hit/stage reporting accurate.
  • Enforce output budgets for source, pre-, and post-replacement rules.

Automated validation

The pre-tag release-candidate workflow
passed on commit 8b02a4d9c43d4e150b555f8e23e91fe59bdf5bf3. All six runtime
payload jobs, cross-platform Jieba comparison, package assembly, and six
runtime smoke jobs passed.

The tagged release workflow
also passed, including all six runtime smoke jobs, asset attestations, and
publication. The downloaded Release contains seven ZIPs and
SHA256SUMS.txt; tools/release_assets.py validated all eight assets, all
seven ZIP checksums matched, and GitHub provenance verification passed for all
eight files. The Fat Plugin is 29,509,760 bytes; each platform ZIP is below
7,000,000 bytes.

Install the ZIP through Sigil's plugin manager. GitHub's automatically
generated source archives are not installable plugins.

Changes

  • Add versioned rules with protect, final-wording, pre-replacement, and
post-replacement actions, using literal or regular-expression matching.
  • Bundle the pinned regex engine for all six supported runtime targets. Regex
rules run offline with time, hit-count, output-size, and zero-length guards.
  • Add templates for author-credit protection, marker-delimited protection,
    contextual replacement, and horizontal-space cleanup.
  • Use one conversion pipeline for the rule sandbox and book conversion. Changes
map back to original XHTML locations, and dependent edits stay grouped.

Automated validation

The tagged release workflow validates the six runtime identities, builds the
Fat Plugin and six platform ZIPs, runs package smoke tests on all targets,
verifies SHA-256 checksums, and attests every release asset before publishing.
The ZIPs include the multilingual rule guide and third-party notices.

Changes

  • Preserve the author-credit markers ◎著, ◎ 著, and ◎ 著 in tw2sp and
tw2sp_jieba, in addition to the existing ◎【著】 form.
  • Keep bare 著 subject to normal conversion when no identifying marker is
present, so ordinary text such as 慰藉著 still converts to 慰藉着.
  • Explain these cases in the localized Rules / sandbox help and the bundled
    multilingual rule guide.

Automated validation

The main CI run
passed all six native payload jobs, cross-platform Jieba comparison,

Changes

  • Preserve the Taiwan-to-Simplified author-credit marker ◎【著】, including
with Jieba segmentation. Ordinary contextual conversion such as
    慰藉著 → 慰藉着 remains unchanged.
  • Add localized rule-writing help to the Rules / sandbox page, plus a detailed

package requires CPython 3.12/cp312. The Fat Plugin contains the five cp314
payloads and does not include the cp312 runtime.

Changes

  • Prevent preview decisions from splitting phrase-level OpenCC conversions.
  • Preserve protected XHTML and source text, and report malformed source files
with precise diagnostics while allowing unrelated files to proceed.
  • Improve settings, profiles, rules, history, progress, preview, and result
dialogs, with localized controls and clearer failure and discard feedback.
  • Reduce repeated work and refresh large previews incrementally.
  • Add Linux x86_64/cp312 packaging; add cross-platform Jieba consistency checks
and attestations for the release assets.

at the same commit passed all of those jobs, generated provenance attestations,
verified them, and published this Release. The downloaded Release assets also
passed tools/release_assets.py, SHA-256 verification, and independent
attestation verification for all eight files. These checks do not establish
acceptance inside a real Sigil process.

Verify downloaded checksums with tools/release_assets.py and verify each
artifact's provenance with:

for asset in OpenCCForSigil_*.zip SHA256SUMS.txt; do
  gh attestation verify "$asset" \
    --repo liyafly/OpenCCForSigil \
    --signer-workflow liyafly/OpenCCForSigil/.github/workflows/ci.yml
done

The SHA-256 of the published SHA256SUMS.txt is
3543bef74d9770a17b7ed60946ddb33664e0a2df93fdee3ec3a927cd9632800e.

Remaining acceptance

Installation, conversion, save, and reopen have not been tested in real Sigil
hosts on macOS arm64, Windows x64, or Linux x86_64. All host acceptance remains
Not verified.

OpenCCForSigil 0.1.0

This release connects the V1 conversion workflow, rules and profiles, document
metadata options, and private reports, and strengthens cross-platform packaging.

Install

Download OpenCCForSigil_0.1.0.zip from this release and install it through
Sigil's plugin manager. GitHub's source archives are not installable plugin
packages. When updating, replace the previous plugin through Sigil; preferences,
rules, profiles, and history are stored outside the plugin directory and EPUB.

The Fat Plugin includes CPython 3.14/cp314 payloads for Windows x86_64, Linux
x86_64, macOS Intel, and macOS Apple Silicon. Other Python minor versions and
Windows/Linux ARM are not included. The native Jieba build is constrained to
macOS 13 and Linux GLIBC 2.35 / GLIBCXX 3.4.30 or earlier symbol requirements.

Changes

  • Optional Jieba loading no longer blocks standard conversion. Selected Jieba
configurations never silently fall back, and integrity failures remain blocking.
  • Bound long-text diff work, move analysis to a worker-owned backend, and add
cooperative cancellation without writing a partial plan.
  • Add opt-in NCX labels, whitelisted OPF metadata, and grouped updates to existing
Chinese language tags while preserving source formatting outside planned patches.
  • Add locked exact/protect rules, profile and book scopes, rule import/export,
a sandbox, and independent official-config comparisons.
  • Add optional quotation and horizontal-punctuation transforms, mixed-script
diagnostics, and explicit high-risk pivot and numeric Han reference options.
  • Add spine scope, preview filters and grouped decisions, return to settings,
Checkpoint reminders, and source/rule/profile checks before applying.
  • Add private history and Markdown/JSON reports. Persisted history excludes book
text; exporting a full diff requires an explicit choice.

Validation and remaining acceptance

The release pipeline runs repository tests and official OpenCC/CLI differential
checks on all four native runners, then validates the final ZIP's complete
runtime matrix, provenance, hashes, and native binary baselines. The differential
corpora contain 28 standard and 10 native Jieba cases. Local validation also
covered controlled UI actions using Sigil's bundled macOS Qt runtime.

These checks do not constitute installation, apply, save, and reopen acceptance
on all four real Sigil hosts, or execution on the oldest supported OS versions.
Previous user acceptance applies to the previously tested package. Minor UI
polish already noted remains deferred; this release needs its own real-book
acceptance. Use Sigil's Checkpoint or a backup before applying book-wide changes.
