This has been fixed in trunk in r309936. Can this be merged to release_50?

r309936 depends on r308721, which is not on 5.0 (we branched at r308441).

Should r308721 also be merged? Or was that the one that introduced the problem? It seems that's where Takumi reported a test failure.

"-stdlib=libstdc++" is enough for 5.0, this has at least worked for me on rc2.
