Extended Description

The switch to GPLv3 in FSF sources was done after r127959 (gcc-4.2.2-Prerelease),
this left a set of bug fixes and enhancements that are still under GPLv2 and that can be applied to llvm-gcc.

A first set of changes that applies cleanly is included in the attached patch.

FreeBSD, which will also not adopt GPL3 code, has some rather small of bug fixes that would be good to have in order to be able to build FreeBSD with llvm-gcc.

If the code is compiled in, it's good to keep it in sync anyways. There are more patches coming as soon as I confirm they apply cleanly.

Fixes for outstanding PRs
This patch includes the fixes for some FSF-gcc Problem Reports:

And a fix for mips predicates. I stopped updating now the FSF Changelog becasue some conflict wrt the Apple gcc code are starting to appear. The good news is that there are just a couple more fixes remaining from the FSF.

Just for fun I attempted to build a kernel with llvm-gcc4 and one of the things that FreeBSD needs for that is support for -fformat-extensions. The changes for that in gcc/c-format.c are not very nice.

This is the last round of fixes from upstream gcc. It includes:

some misc expr.c cleanups and config support for future FreeBSD versions.

Next I'll probably start taking patches from FreeBSD but it will take some time so I will probably open a different bugzilla item for them.

This is actually from FreeBSD but it's pretty generic that we want it also:

From FreeBSD's Revision 195815:

Output DWARF debug information for global 'using' declarations, instead
of just blowing up.
This problem was triggered by running the Boost regression tests.
