Regardless of the comments (+ we could most likely get rid of the anaconda here...), should probs merge, we'll update once better steps come along as we go...

We should get the fix in instead of this...
(got a branch for this, will open a PR tomorrow)
EDIT: I'll address when GitHub M1 Runner support is out...
