PMIC can go into buggy state to the point that the phone won't charge.

Same issue as Surya.
Temporary fix to reset is to boot into bootloader. Then back to System.
If that still doesn't work, another way is to do offline charging once (plug the phone while powered off), reboot to system and check if charging is fixed.

Possible Solution :

• Rate Limit setters on /sys/class/power_supply
• Sanity check values being set into qpnp-smbcharger or bq2957x in /sys/class/power_supply

What happens if it dies in this state? This issue happened to me and my phone will not charge or get recognized by edl or fastboot.

Does this make tools like ACC too risky, or is there any advantage to installing them?

My point being: is disabling "Smart Features" enough for users to avoid this issue, or should installing ACC be discouraged altogether?

dude this is very common problem in surya , it just don't charge over certain level sometimes , usually happens after when we disconnect and reconnect the charger again .
