Fix
Fixed missing toolbar labels when opening an archive directly from Finder while CleanZip is not running. Search, Test and Extract now show both their icons and labels on first launch.
The app now sets the input state before creating the window. The same correction applies when an encrypted archive is handed from the Finder service to the main app. Native toolbar styling and archive behavior are unchanged.
Verification
- Reproduced the original problem and verified the corrected file-open launch in the native UI on macOS 27.0.1.
- Checked search expansion and switching to compression mode.
- Added a startup-order regression test that fails on the previous implementation and passes with this fix.
- App, table, archive and Finder-service regression tests pass.
Universal build for Intel and Apple Silicon, with macOS 14 or later as the deployment target.
Install
Download CleanZip-2.6.37.pkg below. It updates /Applications/CleanZip.app and /Library/Services/CleanZipService.service.
This build is ad-hoc signed, not Apple-notarized. Only proceed if you trust this repository and the downloaded package:
- Try opening the PKG once and dismiss the macOS warning.
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security.
- Choose Open Anyway for CleanZip, then authenticate and confirm Open.
On newer macOS versions, right-clicking the PKG and choosing Open may show the same warning. Use Privacy & Security > Open Anyway instead; do not disable system-wide security protections.
The ZIP is available for manual installation. Verify downloads using SHA256SUMS.txt.
