Install

Download CleanZip-2.6.35.pkg below. It installs CleanZip in /Applications and the Finder service in /Library/Services.

This public build is ad-hoc signed and is not Apple-notarized because the repository does not currently contain Developer ID and notarization credentials. On first install, macOS may say that Apple cannot verify the package:

1. Try to open the downloaded PKG once, then dismiss the warning.
2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
3. Scroll to the Security section and click Open Anyway for CleanZip.
4. Authenticate and confirm Open.

On newer macOS versions, Finder's right-click Open may show the same warning for a PKG; use Privacy & Security → Open Anyway instead.

The ZIP asset is provided for manual installation. See SHA256SUMS.txt for download verification.

CleanZip 2.6.34

Installer location fix

CleanZip 2.6.34 fixes an installer issue in 2.6.33 that could place the app beside an existing development or manual copy instead of /Applications/CleanZip.app.

• The app and Finder service are now explicitly non-relocatable package components.
• The installer always targets /Applications/CleanZip.app and /Library/Services/CleanZipService.service.
• Packaging now fails automatically if PackageKit metadata enables bundle relocation.
• Includes the native Finder-style table behavior introduced in 2.6.33.

Users who installed 2.6.33 should install 2.6.34 even if the earlier installation reported success.

CleanZip 2.6.33

Warning

The 2.6.33 installer can relocate CleanZip beside another existing copy instead of installing it in /Applications. Install CleanZip 2.6.34, which fixes the package metadata.

Native Finder-style tables

• Replaced custom column compensation with Apple's standard AppKit NSScrollView, NSTableView, and NSTableColumn behavior.
• The Name column stays pinned and absorbs normal window resizing.
• Other columns can be resized and reordered independently, without neighboring widths unexpectedly snapping back.
• Refreshed saved column layouts and added regression coverage for sizing, reordering, metadata-free archives, and archive round trips.

• unused width snaps back into the Name column

If macOS blocks the installer

CleanZip is ad-hoc signed for open source distribution, but it is not notarized with an Apple Developer ID. macOS may block CleanZip-2.6.30.pkg before the installer opens and show a warning such as "Apple could not verify CleanZip is free of malware."

For the .pkg installer:

1. In Finder, Control-click CleanZip-2.6.30.pkg and choose Open.
2. If the same warning still appears with only Done and Move to Trash, open System Settings -> Privacy & Security.
3. At the bottom of Privacy & Security, choose Open Anyway for CleanZip-2.6.30.pkg, then confirm.

After installation, if macOS blocks CleanZip.app itself, Control-click CleanZip.app in /Applications and choose Open. If it is still blocked, use System Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Open Anyway for CleanZip.app.

After you approve the installer or app once, macOS opens it normally.
