Install in Claude Code

claude plugin marketplace add m4bwav/tokenwright
claude plugin install tokenwright@tokenwright

The skills then load when a task matches them, for example "why did that cost so much" or "this skill is too big".

Other agents

Copilot, Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI read the same skill folders. Copy or link each folder under skills/ into the agent's skills directory. Not tested on those agents by this wiki.

Run tw.py

tw.py needs Python 3.9 or newer and nothing else. It sits at skills/tokenwright/scripts/tw.py.

python tw.py --version

Try estimate before you load a big file:

python tw.py estimate big.log notes.md

   10500  big.log
       5  notes.md
   10505  total (~tokens)

The count is characters divided by four. It ranks costs; it is not a bill.
