Any possibility of adding a basic Docker compose management interface, something similar to Dockge? Could even have Optional Feature where it would add all the docker components. Of course I can just use Dockge separately, but might make a nice addition.

My 2 Cents:
I wouldn't want to have another "all-in-one" solution which tries to incorporate everything. In fact, I explicitly appreciate the fact, that znas is focused on NAS management only.

Use Portainer If you need a Webinterface for Docker/Docker compose.

I'm actually glad that ZFSNAS isn't as bloated as TrueNAS.

We are 100% with @toscdesign here. We believe that since we do not own the OS, the users can still enable additional features on the host itself without impacting. Portainer or other.

What we could maybe to is to have in the additional features a one button to auto install the portal and dependencies for portainer, and configure the docker storage to use a specified dataset. Something like that maybe

Thanks, and no worries. Just a suggestion as an optional feature. Like the other optional. But not needed. And I use Dockge and not Portainer regardless. And there are many. Dockhand, Arcane, etc.

Things have changed since that old discussion !
I think everyone know the story now, we just were not happy with VMware prices and proxmox caused several issues for us with their updates forcing us to look at alternatives and LXD was the best, just with a bad UI.

So In July, a new optional-feature option will be added called Virtualization. This add VM creation, LXC Creation and since LXD management stack can access the internal OS, we have docker and podman detection so that all your dockers are visually presented in ZNAS, and manageable.
