Extremely slow catalog in admin area with 250+ attributes

When you have 250+ attributes, columns settings code of Products -> Catalog becomes extremely slow

I have the same issue happening on Products -> Catalog.

• Preconditions: Magento 2.1.13
• Steps to reproduce: A catalog of +1000 products, +250 attributes, +200 attribute sets.
• Expected result: Catalog listing in a reasonable time.
• Actual result: Catalog listing in 3 minutes or more.

I have the same issue happening on Products -> Catalog.

Steps to reproduce: A catalog of +2500 products, +250 attributes, +15 attribute sets.
Expected result: Catalog listing in a reasonable time.
Actual result: Catalog listing in 3-5 minutes or more.

Any Update on this issue? I've like 2700 attributes , I've split them up into different groups but didn't work

So... I found that a problem with the product page in the catalog admin is - whether or not you are planning to display a column - as long as an attribute is included in the column options, it loads the values from the database anyway and stores them in the page source. As a result, when you check the column, it displays it instantly without using AJAX... because it's already queried the DB. This might be handy if you don't plan on going past page 1, filtering the products, or doing anything more than just looking and changing columns, but that doesn't really describe 90% of use cases, in my experience. Reducing the number of column options you have available to check should reduce the load on the DB every time the page is loaded.

Stores > Attributes > Product, click on an unnecessary attribute, open the Advanced Attribute Properties section, and change Add to Column Options to No. Do this for all attributes you don't need to see in a table on the product page.
