When creating configurations on a configurable product, while assigning prices to configurable products, prices aren's readable when using custom price symbol.

Preconditions

1. Magento 2.1.10
2. php 7.0.25

Steps to reproduce

1. Configure a multi char currency symbol
2. Create a product
3. Add configurations on the product page
4. Select the option Apply unique prices by attribute to each SKU or Apply single price to all SKUs
5. Fill in prices

Expected result

1. Proper readable currency symbol as seen on product price page
   

Actual result

1. Unreadable prices
