[MaterialCheckBox] Crash with .Bridge theme and checkBoxStyle

Description: App crashes when these 3 conditions are met:

• layout features a MaterialCheckBox
• .Bridge theme is used
• checkBoxStyle is set and inherits from Widget.MaterialComponents.CompoundButton.CheckBox

Expected behavior: App doesn't crash

Same happens when I use CheckBox directly instead of com.google.android.material.checkbox.MaterialCheckBox

Hi @pawelkw - I've tried to reproduce this as per your description by modifying our catalog to:

• use MaterialCheckBox directly (instead of relying on CheckBox being autoinflated)
• inheriting from Theme.MaterialComponents.DayNight.NoActionBar.Bridge
• setting checkboxStyle to a style that inherits from Widget.MaterialComponents.CompoundButton.CheckBox

The above setup works and I am unable to reproduce the crash you are describing.

If the same thing happens when you use CheckBox instead of MaterialCheckBox it's possible there is an issue with the changes to your style that inherits from Widget.MaterialComponents.CompoundButton.CheckBox
