Gist won't open the browser to give me the PIN

I registered my application but I can't get the PIN needed since no browser window is opened

I can't get the PIN either as I'm running vim remotely and have no available browser. I tried adding let g:gist_browser_command = "echo" to my .vimrc but it just fails to print the error message.

Unlet the variable, and try to add following code

echo a:url

above at:

client_id is secret value.

I thought only secret was a secret value, like with ssh keys.

I'll recreate and actually visit the URL.

Wow, that actually works. You should change the script so it prints the URL rather than assuming the user is working locally.

You are right. But in-secure.
The client_id is your application's id. So we can't know the callback URL you set. :)
