Private Packing List #858

Would you mind, if I extend this idea? Personal + Shared Packing Lists with a Common PoolThe current single shared list works fine for simple trips, but as soon as you're traveling with a group, it starts to break down. Everyone's needs are different, and not everything belongs in one big pile. I'd love to see a model with three distinct layers: 1. 🧳 Personal ListEach traveler manages their own list of what they need to bring. Private by default, but items can be flagged as shareable. 2. 🤝 Shared Items Between IndividualsIf I'm bringing something that also covers a fellow traveler — say, a power bank or a first aid kit — I can mark it and assign it to specific people. It then shows up on their personal list as well, clearly marked:
No duplicate entries, no confusion about who's responsible. 3. 🌍 Common List (Group Pool)Some things don't need to be carried by everyone. Painkillers, sunscreen, a travel adapter — one person can cover the whole group. Items marked as "shared with all" flow into a Common List that's visible to everyone. Alternatively the Common List can be contributed to directly and items can be taken "ownership" of. I'm unsure which way feels more natural. This Common List isn't just a logistics tool — it also works as inspiration. Travelers can browse it and think: "Oh right, I hadn't thought of that." From there, they can either:
The result is a living, collaborative system that naturally answers the question every traveler faces: "What do I actually need to bring?" — while making sure no one overlooks something just because it wasn't on their radar. |

You can now mark packing items as private, so they're only visible to you and stay off everyone else's list. Landing in 3.2.0 — thanks @potthoffjd and @tedstriker! |

It would be nice to have a packing list in groups that are only visible to the logged in user. Then it would still be nice to have a separate packing list that is shareable.
