PLUGIN REQUEST: Microphone subject proximity recorder

HARDWARE:
A small-form-factor ultrasonic rangefinder that can be mounted on a mic stand or on a shockmount with a lightweight (and repositionable) bracket.

SOFTWARE:
The rangefinder depth data is passed to a DAW as MIDI data in realtime alongside a vocal track, effectively saving "metadata" about subject proximity to the microphone.

When recording dialogue and intentionally exploiting microphone proximity effect, it can be challenging to match that effect across multiple sessions (especially for pickup sessions when you're just replacing a single line, or part of a line, in a conversation). By having distance data recorded alongside the dialogue, it becomes really easy to go back later in time and replicate the same 'sound' very quickly.
