I had a brief look and (I think) MTK can be converted to an extension in OptimizationMOI. It might be worth opening an issue there to ask for it.

I don't have any great objection to MTK being a part of this stack except that it takes a while to precompile/load...

Another solution could be to use a different optimization backend, because MOI seems to want to use modeling toolkit and symbolics to trace constraints so that it can add constraints.

Is OptimizationMOI really needed in the first place? I see that OptimizationOptimJL is used in

DiskArrayEngine.jl/src/executionplan.jl

but OptimizationMOI does not seem to be actually used.
