What's the correct way to create a string PROPVARIANT?

I've got this code:

var pv = new PROPVARIANT();
pv.Anonymous.Anonymous.vt = Windows.Win32.System.Variant.VARENUM.VT_BSTR;
pv.Anonymous.Anonymous.Anonymous.bstrVal = "test";

But that seems... wrong to me?

I'm trying to generate some propvariants that are to be consumed via a COM call

But I can't work out how to use it with cswin32
