FancyZones: even space is 0, some apps show space again after restart

• PowerToy Utility: FancyZones

📝 Provide detailed reproduction steps (if any)

1. I installed PowerToys
2. On second (vertical) monitor I used a simple two-row layout (see screenshot)
3. I tested some apps like chrome, thunderbird etc.
4. Since the space looked annoying to me, I set it 0 (and later in addition I disabled the checkbox left)
5. I re-assigned the windows and was happy...
6. Day after, I opened my default apps (chrome, skype, sublime, spotify, thunderbird ...) and I recognized, that all windows used the correct zone, but Chrome and Thunderbird still use the zone with the default-padding...
7. I re-assigned the correct zone level to Chrome and Thunderbird -> closed the apps and re-opened it -> app again showed with padding... 7. in a loop...

✔️ Expected result

After removing space (either via "Space around zones to 0" or by disabling "Show space around zones") and re-assigning windows to the correct position, it should keep this position also after a re-start of the program.

❌ Actual result

After restarting Thunderbird and Chrome, I still see a padding around these apps (see screenshot).
(For Spotify, Sublime and Skype it works correctly)

some application are not DPI aware and we need to add padding, otherwise they will resize badly.
Other apps, simply don't let the system open them in a certain position and they resize themselves.
These problems happen especially when the zones are reaching the edge of the screen in multi-monitor configuration.
Unfortunately there is no much we can do about it.

Wait, this mean, everyone that uses Chrome and Thunderbird will get a space/gap between its window and the edges of the monitor, after you start the program?
And, if you don't like this, you need to correct it manually every reboot again (with shift + drag)?

Each application has its own way to save restore its position. That is something that FZ doesn't touch.
FZ store the size/position of the zone and a list of apps and corresponding zone.
It's quite simple.
If an app doesn't want to play along, it's simply out of FZ control.

For others with same "issue":
I ended up by fixing the gaps via a simple script/trigger that positions the window exactly at the position I wanted (in my case, I did it by using DisplayFusion).
