Version 2024.12.0 gives this error: ImportError: cannot import name 'Literal' from 'typing'

Today my vs code extension was updated automatically and I got this error.

Sadly I am working on a legacy system that needs: python 3.7.16.

Solution

My solution was to go back to the previous version 2024.10.0

@SaulBurgos You can pin the debugger to an older version that supports 3.7. That would be (2024.0.* for the Python Debugger extension)
