Python terminal issue

I am attempting to using Python on VSCode and it was working fine last week, a few days ago when I attempted typing into the Terminal the "$" is there but nothing shows up when I type. I thought that it was the Microsoft version of Python that needed to download from the Extension tab but its like this for the past few days and each time it says that the is one 300ms left. I looked up on YouTube, online, everywhere and cannot find a solution. Please help. :(
