Setting new segment and its times is quite slow/complicated. Any way to speedup using keyboard?

Hello, my workflow is usually to open file, click + button to create new segment, mouse click into segment start/end times to overwrite it. After I rewrite the time on keyboard, i do custom shortcut to add next segment (Default was something like Ctrl+' which is not on my current keyboard by default), now i do not want to spend time moving my hand from keyboard to mouse in order to aim and click the segment start time to rewrite it. So I have figured out that after creating segment, I can use Tab key to highlight segment start time and start rewriting it (though it may not be apparent to a user that this is possible).

Is it possible to simplify/speed-up this workflow?

Ctrl+' (new segment - it currently fails) , Tab, arrow keys to move to a minutes, Hold Shift + 2x left arrow to highlight minutes, write correct minute, left arrow to jump before seconds, Hold Shift + 2x left arrow to highlight seconds, write correct second. Do the same for miliseconds. Tab to move to a segment end time field and repeat.

That is a lot of operations. Maybe one day, there will be a function to import cut times in a custom format (like "15.12-15.46 19.27-19.49") or a "speech to AI" which would set the segments automatically after i say: one minute fifty one seconds to one minute fifty five seconds and/then [segment2times].

I can use mouse for some actions, but maybe it is even slower to move hand from keyboard to mouse and back.

Again, where are your timestamps coming from?

For a normal process, you only need to play/position on the timeline and then use the i, o shortcut keys, which is convenient and intuitive enough for most people.

It does not seem practical/accurate to attempt to find the exact time by clicking(and holding) mouse button on the timeline and moving mouse left/right, because I often end up couple seconds away from the time of interest and needs to use around 2 additional keyboard shortcuts to get to the correct position (+/- ~200ms).

Yes, replacing regular player with LC is a way to cut significantly faster. LC allows adjusting several timeline jump lengths and keyboard shortcuts used for it, so i can set the same timeline jump shortcuts as is in my current video player.

In my 1st post though, i have been rather talking about case when i have cut times written down and needs to apply it.

Use the , and . keys, or if you have a touchpad, swipe left or right. There are some other seek keys, but these ones I use most. I suggest you read through the documentation first to find a more suitable workflow.
