airptpd compatibility

The maintainer of owntone has added libairptp to the code base. Since this has been added, owntone and nqptp cannot coexist on the same machine. Is there a possibility that shairport-sync can use a standalone built airptpd or nqptp?

I have no idea if airptpd it is capable of being a server and client of 'the time' but it would be nice if both could be running simultaneously. Either that or what would need to happen to allow both owntone and shairport-sync to be running on the same machine as we go forward?

Thanks for the post. We’ve been thinking about this for some time, and no clever and general solution has emerged, I’m afraid, except switching one service off while the other is in use. (This seems to be what Apple does, BTW.)

I have been digging into it a bit and see some of the problems with it, but I am sure not all.
Can I expand the question a bit? How about, if shairport-sync is built with airplay2 compatibility, allow it to fall back to airplay1 if nqptp is not running? Could that be possible?
