PasaScope 1.8.3

PasaScope 1.8.3: speech is no longer lost when the transcriber gets stuck repeating a phrase.

Fixed

• Whisper sometimes writes one phrase over and over for a whole stretch of a recording ("สีแดง สีแดง สีแดง …"). PasaScope used to drop that stretch, together with the real speech in it. It now transcribes that stretch once more on its own, which usually brings the speech back. In our tests on Thai toddler recordings (accurate mode), lost child utterances fell from 26 to 5 of 196.
• Recordings where this happens take a little longer to transcribe. Everything else transcribes exactly as before.

As always, the draft is for you to check against the recording before attesting.

Install or update

• Already on 1.8.0 or later? Help → Check for updates. The update backs up your data and installs itself: choose Restart now, or Later to install when you quit.
• Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 12+): open PasaScope-1.8.3.dmg and drag PasaScope onto Applications. If macOS blocks the first launch: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
• Windows 10/11 (64-bit): run PasaScope-1.8.3-windows-x64-setup.exe. If SmartScreen warns you: More info → Run anyway.

Your cases are stored apart from the app; updating does not remove them.
