MHGU Recomp 0.12.0

  • Significantly improved the keyboard+mouse controls.
    • The mouse now controls the camera natively instead of emulating the right stick. You can change the sensitivity in the options.
    • Mousewheel can be used to cycle through items in your pouch.
    • Middle-mouse now emulates Y by default (the R key on the keyboard still does this by default too), so you can use items or sheathe your weapon that way. You may need to adjust your binds or reset keybinds to do this.
    • Mousewheel can now be bound in the keybinds in options.
    • (In case I forgot to mention it in the previous releases, the F1 menu has a key bindings section now).
    • For Bow users: set the control type to 1 in the game's options. This gives you a nice setup where you can hold left-click to shoot, right-click to power shot, and hold E to aim.
    • The mouse controls are still a bit weird while hard-aiming the bow, this will be fixed soon.
  • Added Discord Rich Presence support! It's enabled by default, but you can turn it off in the F1 options. (#145)
  • Fixed anti-aliasing not working in post-hunt screenshots with FSR enabled (#144)

To install:

  • Extract the zip anywhere
  • Put your exefs and romfs folders from your copy of MHGU in the data subfolder. This expects you to use game version 1.4.0. You can right-click and extract your ROM with patches applied in Ryujinx if you are coming from there
  • Run the game to generate the ini, press F1 to change settings
  • Saves are stored here by default. If you are coming from Ryujinx, copy the save_0 folder into here:
    • Windows: AppData/Roaming/MHGURecomp/save/
    • Arch Linux: ~/.local/share/MHGURecomp/save/
      • If $XDG_DATA_HOME is set, they are in $XDG_DATA_HOME/MHGURecomp/save/ instead
  • Put mods in the mods folder if you have any (Forge mods are also supported!). Mods that raise the FPS cap or resolution are not necessary (and won't work anyway)
  • If you have any cheat codes you'd like to use, put them in a .txt file under cheats/ or in the Cheats submenu in the F1 menu
  • Optionally, in the options you can enable copying of free downloadable content from the donor save that's provided inside the bonus folder. This will give you access to the exclusive event quests, item packs and palicoes. If you want to provide your own donor save instead, you can.
