Choose a tag to compare

@morerokk morerokk released this 25 Oct 23:26

MHGU Recomp 0.9.11

  • Fixed a bug where keyboard inputs would act really strangely or lock up input entirely

To install:

  • Extract the zip anywhere
  • Put your exefs and romfs folders from your copy of MHGU in the data subfolder. This expects you to use game version 1.4.0. You can right-click and extract your ROM with patches applied in Ryujinx if you are coming from there
  • Run the game at least once to generate the .ini
  • Saves are stored here by default. If you are coming from Ryujinx, copy the save_0 folder into here:
    • Windows: AppData/Roaming/MHGURecomp/save/
    • Arch Linux: ~/.local/share/MHGURecomp/save/
      • If $XDG_DATA_HOME is set, they are in $XDG_DATA_HOME/MHGURecomp/save/ instead
  • Put mods in the mods folder if you have any (Forge mods are also supported!). Mods that raise the FPS cap or resolution are not necessary (and won't work anyway)
  • If you have any cheat codes you'd like to use, put them in a .txt file under cheats/.
  • Edit the .ini file to your liking
  • Optionally, in the .ini you can enable copying of free downloadable content from the donor save that's provided inside the bonus folder. This will give you access to the exclusive event quests, item packs and palicoes. If you want to provide your own donor save instead, you can.

0.9.7 - Cheat code support

@morerokk morerokk released this 24 Oct 18:27

MHGU Recomp 0.9.7

  • Added cheat code support. Put .txt files with your desired cheat codes (Atmosphere format, same as Ryujinx/Yuzu) in the cheats subfolder in the game folder.
  • Filenames starting with _ are ignored. You can have any amount of cheat codes in these .txt files.

There's cheat codes for this game just about anywhere online, and a few more in this repo. Check the following links:

Please be nice and inform your friends if you're using said cheat codes to cheat. Reminder: FPS cap cheats are unnecessary in this port.

To install:

  • Extract the zip anywhere

0.9.4 - Minor control tweaks, bonus content

Choose a tag to compare

@morerokk morerokk released this 23 Oct 18:44

MHGU Recomp 0.9.4

  • Slightly tweaked default keyboard+mouse controls. I don't think this will ever be very good for gameplay but it's at least viable now.
  • Added mouse support for moving the camera. This is currently only emulating the right stick, it will be re-implemented "properly" at a later date.
  • Tweaked included bonus content, it should now have all free item packs that were ever distributed via the game's online servers.
  • Added Forge GUI support. If you have any Forge mods with UI, press Insert to open the menu for them.

  • Saves are stored in AppData/Roaming/MHGURecomp/save, if you are coming from Ryujinx copy the save_0 folder into here. If you only have a system file, put it in AppData/Roaming/MHGURecomp/save/save_0.
  • Put mods in the mods folder if you have any (Forge mods are also supported!). Mods that raise the FPS cap or resolution are not necessary (and won't work anyway)

@morerokk morerokk released this 23 Oct 12:05

  • Fixed multiplayer Village Quests not being progression-locked properly for clients. You can now only join village quests that you should have access to, as with regular Hub Quests.
  • Added native Linux support, courtesy of kzdixon (this release was not prebuilt for Linux yet).

To install:

  • Extract the zip anywhere
  • Put your exefs and romfs folders from your copy of MHGU in the data subfolder. This expects you to use game version 1.4.0. You can right-click and extract your ROM with patches applied in Ryujinx if you are coming from there

0.9.2 - Multiplayer Village Quests

Choose a tag to compare

@morerokk morerokk released this 22 Oct 18:11

MHGU Recomp 0.9.2

  • Press L/R in the Hub quest menu to switch to Village quests instead, letting you play Village quests in multiplayer. These quests are scaled up to match the Hub playercounts.
  • These quests are scaled up by x2 by default, then scaled again according to playercount scaling in the .ini file. At default settings, that means the village quest monsters have x2 HP regardless of playercount.
  • (Quest progression locks for the client are not implemented yet, so use this with caution, it's beta. You can disable it in the ini.)

  • Saves are stored in AppData/Roaming/MHGURecomp/save, if you are coming from Ryujinx copy the save_0 folder into here. If you only have a system file, put it in AppData/Roaming/MHGURecomp/save/save_0.
  • Put mods in the mods folder if you have any (Forge mods are also supported!). Mods that raise the FPS cap or resolution are not necessary (and won't work anyway)
