0.13.1 - Shared Urgent Quests
MHGU Recomp 0.13.1
- Added optional feature to mark Urgent Quests as completed for people joining a posted Urgent Quest. That means you don't have to re-run the same quest up to 4 times in a row to advance in Hunter Rank anymore. This option is enabled by default. (Fixes #175)
- Fixed display scaling on Wayland causing the game to not render at the correct resolution. (Fixes #170)
- Removed AMD FSR 4 support, since it was causing issues and I don't have any testing setups that can actually run it. FSR 3.1 is still available.
Installation
Windows/Linux
- Download the release zip/tar.gz for your platform, and extract it anywhere
- Put your
exefsandromfsfolders from your copy of MHGU in thedatasubfolder. This expects you to use game version 1.4.0. You can right-click and extract your ROM with patches applied in Ryujinx if you are coming from there - Run the game to generate the ini, press F1 to change settings
- Saves are stored here by default. If you are coming from Ryujinx, copy the
save_0folder into here:- Windows:
AppData/Roaming/MHGURecomp/save/ - Arch Linux:
~/.local/share/MHGURecomp/save/- If
$XDG_DATA_HOMEis set, they are in$XDG_DATA_HOME/MHGURecomp/save/instead
- If
- Windows:
- Put mods in the
modsfolder if you have any (Forge mods are also supported!). Mods that raise the FPS cap or resolution are not necessary (and won't work anyway) - If you have any cheat codes you'd like to use, put them in a .txt file under
cheats/or in the Cheats submenu in the F1 menu - Optionally, in the options you can enable copying of free downloadable content from the donor save that's provided inside the
bonusfolder. This will give you access to the exclusive event quests, item packs and palicoes. If you want to provide your own donor save instead, you can.
Android (experimental)
Android setup instructions
-
Download the Android APK below and open it on your device. Android will ask you to allow installing apps from your browser or file manager.
-
Start MHGU Recomp once. It will say the game files were not found. That's expected: it has now created its folder.
-
Connect the device to your PC with USB and choose File transfer on the device.
-
On the PC, open the device's storage and go to
Android/data/io.github.morerokk.mhgurecomp/files/. Copy yourexefsandromfsfolders into thedatafolder there, so it looks like this:Android/data/io.github.morerokk.mhgurecomp/files/ data/ exefs/ main (main.npdm, rtld, sdk, subsdk0) romfs/ nativeNX/ (the rest of the game's romfs)If you don't see the
filesordatafolder, restart the device and reconnect it, or createdatayourself. On Android 11 and newer, the device's own file manager can't openAndroid/data, so use a PC.
With adb, you can push them instead:adb push exefs romfs /sdcard/Android/data/io.github.morerokk.mhgurecomp/files/data/ -
Connect your controller and start the game. Press
Plus+Minusto open the settings menu.
Bringing a save over: put its system and system_backup files in save/save_0/ inside that same files folder. From the PC version, copy them from %APPDATA%\MHGURecomp\save\save_0\ (Linux: ~/.local/share/MHGURecomp/save/save_0/). Copy save/save_0/ back to your PC now and then as a backup.
Mods and cheats go in mods/ and cheats/ in the files folder. Settings are in mhgurecomp.ini and the log is log.txt.
Updating: install the newer APK over the old one; your game files, saves and settings stay. Don't uninstall first: uninstalling deletes the whole files folder, including your game files and saves.
