Info about fonts loaded and missing fonts for ASS subtitles #18628
|
It would be very useful for me if I could have information about fonts loaded when reading a subtitle in ASS format. Right now I can see "[sub/ass] Error opening memory font xxxx" if xxxx is not a valid font file in my fonts directory. |

Yes, libass logs this under mpv --msg-level=sub/ass=trace --log-file=mpv-fonts.log "video.mkv"Search the log for Play or seek to the affected subtitle line first, since font selection happens as subtitles are rendered. |

Yes, libass logs this under
sub/ass. Try:mpv --msg-level=sub/ass=trace --log-file=mpv-fonts.log "video.mkv"Search the log for
fontselect:. Those lines show the requested font family/style and the font actually selected. There are also messages for default-font fallbacks and failures to find a suitable fallback.Play or seek to the affected subtitle line first, since font selection happens as subtitles are rendered.
