OpenNotchi v0.17.0
Added
- Dev tab on Windows: localhost ports with their process (open a dev server in the browser, or stop it), CPU, RAM and network speed, and the latest GitHub Actions runs of any public repo.
- CI builds (macOS): GitHub Actions runs in Dev tools, a banner when a workflow passes or fails, and local builds (xcodebuild, swift build, cargo, web builds) beside the closed notch.
- Focus soundscapes (macOS): rain, brown noise, vinyl crackle and a hearth, mixed to taste, and started automatically with a focus session.
- Notchi grows up (macOS): new moods for focus, caffeine, snacks and being poked too much, and accessories to wear: ears, a sprout, a crown, glasses or a halo.
- Gesture settings (macOS): skip tracks, volume, brightness and tab switching can each be turned on or off.
Changed
- Gestures (macOS) only work on the notch itself: scrolling in the menu bar beside it, or inside a tab's lists and carousels, is no longer taken over. A gesture you turn off no longer acts as another one.
- Settings › Features (macOS) is split into tabs, and each settings pane has a header.
- The battery is hidden in the open notch by default, since the menu bar already shows it. Turn it back on in Settings › General.
Fixed
- The app no longer freezes when swiping quickly through tabs (macOS).
Install (macOS): open OpenNotchi.dmg and drag OpenNotchi to Applications.
The app isn't notarized yet, so on first launch go to
System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
Install (Windows): run OpenNotchi-Windows-setup.exe.
If Windows SmartScreen appears, click More info and Run anyway.
