v0.9.0-rc2 Pre-Release

• Published Fiber v0.9.0-rc2 as the latest release candidate in the v0.9 track. This release includes the unified migration system, release pipeline fixes, external funding persistence, panic-path fixes for invoice and P2P parsing, and dependency updates.

Fiber EV Charging Demo

• Published the Fiber EV charging demo, showcasing Fiber in a real-world streaming payment scenario. The demo runs a browser-based Fiber WASM light node, with passkey login, opens a channel, and streams CKB payments in a real-time “Charge-as-You-Go” flow.

  The demo also highlights multi-hop routing and router/hub behavior in a practical application setting.

Fiber Browser and Wallet UX

• Continued polishing Fiber browser-facing UX, including the FiberNodeButton component and external wallet support in the fiber-pay SDK.

  Work also started on a browser extension wallet proof of concept, as part of the broader WASM, browser, and desktop-wallet integration effort.

Improvements & Fixes

Security and Input Validation Hardening

• Merged panic-path fixes for invalid invoice parsing and invalid UTF-8 P2P parsing:
  • Fix: prevent panic on invalid invoice parsing
  • Fix a remote panic path in P2P parsing when an address contains invalid UTF-8
• Hardened Fiber Sphinx validation and comparison behavior: Security harden with validation and constant-time comparison

External Funding and Payment Flow Reliability

• Finalizing the v0.9 milestone, which remains open after rc2, we plan to release the final v0.9 after fixing all security issues in reviewing.

Security Fixes

• Continue several hardening PRs around trampoline routing, amount validation, and forwarding behavior:
  • Reject invalid trampoline hash algorithms
  • Handle missing trampoline previous TLC
  • Wrap trampoline forwarding failures
  • Add overflow check for almost all amounts
  • Fix hop hint path capacity args

Channel and Funding Edge Cases

• Continue polishing channel/funding edge cases, including:
  • Auto-accept pending limits: Fix auto accept pending limits

Docs, Browser, and Desktop Integration

• Continued the Fiber docs refactor, with priority on fiber-js, HTTP RPC examples, invoice/channel lifecycle explanations, troubleshooting, testnet resources, and AI-friendly docs such as llms.txt / llms-full.txt.
• The browser extension wallet and Fiber Desktop exploration as part of the WASM/browser/desktop integration track.
