Hi,
Baram 25.2.5 introduced a default material for the molten steel. As a metallurgical engineer, I found this news to be good.
The density of the material (7040 kg/m³) is typical for simulating steelmaking processes. However, the dynamic viscosity (0.003 Pa.s) is too low. Such a value would be expected only in very hot conditions, like the hotspot of a BOF converter (~ 2000 ºC). For typical steelmaking processes (~ 1600 ºC), the dynamic viscosity is considerably higher (0.005 to 0.007 Pa.s). Indeed, the kinematic viscosity of liquid steel is close to that of water at room temperature (~ 1E-6 m²/s).
Best regards,
Bernardo.
