Hey there, sorry for the frustrating experience.

You probably accidentally updated from Mac Mouse Fix 2 to Mac Mouse Fix 3 without knowing that MMF 3 isn't free anymore.

However, MMF 2 remains free forever and works just like before. And I plan to keep supporting it.

You can download the latest version of MMF 2 here, and I've also improved the update system in later MMF 2 versions so that:

• ... You can see exactly what you're getting yourself into when updating to MMF 3
• ... You can also easily avoid MMF 3 while still getting updates for MMF 2.

But if you were on a pretty old version of MMF 2 you may not have seen any indication that MMF 3 is no longer free in the update dialogue.

The only way I know how to fix this for people who are on pretty old versions of MMF 2, (like you likely were) is to start the update notes of all the new MMF 3 versions with a disclaimer for MMF 2 users explaining the pricing changes. I did do this for many months. Perhaps a year? But at some point I got complaints about that too, and I removed the disclaimers even though I knew it would still lead to frustrating experiences for a small number of users. You were in the unfortunate position to be one of those users.
