Can 'data' event be lost from net.Socket ?

Description of the problem

Their is a mismatch between https://nodejs.org/api/stream.html#compatibility-with-older-nodejs-versions and
https://github.com/nodejs/node/blame/42a9cc70c74c4d09e50512a57b2897609e7dfe46/doc/api/net.markdown#L564-L565 I think the first is right and the second is outdated

No event is lost unless you remove the listener and call socket.resume().
